In a class of 45 engineering students, Maud Spear was the only woman, shown here with the 1915 Engineering Society. After graduation, she worked as an architect for the well-respected architectural firm Albert C. Clas and Company in Milwaukee, Wis., and later in Washington, D.C., with the War Department, now known as the Department of Defense. |
